WebThe big risk with sharing one drive is that you accidentally use the wrong partition during install, and overwrite something. As long as you are careful with what partitions you select, there is no reason to worry about Windows and Linux sharing a drive. The boot loader thing hasn't been an issue for as long as UEFI has been around.
